He worked as a producer and an editor for AOL-Time Warner in the years 2003-2005. This was prior to the time that he set up his own film production company. Later own, he was able to establish the fir m known as Mythopolis Pictures. This was in partnership with the Singaporean television news presenter Genevieve Woo. He owns a stock-footage firm, TK Time Lapse.
His debut film was released on August 2, 2008 in Singapore. This was the film A Month of Hungry Ghosts. This film was able to gain the inaugural Singapore Film Awards nomination for Best Film. This was during the 22nd Singapore Film Awards. He then released Afterimages in 2011. This was a horror film compendium of five short films that was co-produced by Genevieve Woo.
When he directed the film Afterimages, it's to be noted that the funds that were used for the filming came from actual crowd funding and crowd sourcing. Later on though, the film was able to secure the production assistance grant from the Media Development Authority. In 2012, the script of the film bagged the Network of Asian Fantastic Films award in the competition in Busan, South Korea.
What he has accomplished so far is proof that there are a lot of raw talent out there just waiting to be discovered. All too often, directors have become too used to the idea of staying in the mold to come up with films that are going to be surefire hits. Still, there are directors out there who are very much willing to take some risks for the sake of good story telling.
For aspiring filmmakers, it matters that they will have the right resources to utilize to get their ideas realized. Still, having the right materials and the right ideas behind these resources would matter big time.
