The African people have a history that is quite interesting. In this piece of writing, we will discuss the African American history and how the people advanced in life as the years advanced. In the present times, there are many Africans who have settled in the country. They form a major part of the US history, and you find that most of them are offspring of former slaves.
Even so, a portion became citizens of the US due to marriages and immigration that the places in other country stop. Black Americans are believed to have come from West Africa because of this famous transatlantic trade. The trade was a connecting factor to three continents Europe, America, and Africa.
The Europeans who lived in America were there for cheap labor that they could find in Africa. The trade made African societies sells the delinquent members of their society. The group comprised of people who were guilty of committing serious crimes that were unacceptable in the society.
In some areas communities engaged in the war so that they could capture more slaves that they could use to get products that the European people had. It is this trade that exposed Africa to the rest of the world and later led to the scramble and partition of Africa. The farm lands in America needed people who could work on them because the natives were dying, and their numbers were dwindling because of harsh conditions.
People also loved Africans since they were hardworking and could endure even the harshest of the conditions. The trade gained popularity such that Europe developed fast compared to other countries. The first black individual to get into America did so because of this trade.
Their population grew leading to them being a part of the current population in America. With time, this slave trade was abolished, and the former slaves and their children could be free to talk and interact with others. Nonetheless, racism grew and took root despite this slave trade being abolished.
People from the white descent highly despised blacks and likewise. They could not share common amenities wit blacks, and the society became divided. However, with the rise of leaders like Martin Luther King Junior, a new evolution erupted since he was in the forefront championing for an impartial society. He led people to demonstrate in the streets so that some laws that worsened the already divided nation could be abolished.
The demonstration that his brave leader lead ushered in a completely new era in America. The back people could now be employed in offices just like their white counterparts. Moreover, public amenities could now be shared equally regardless of the race of societal status. Unfortunately, Martin Luther was assassinated years later but he made it clear that one day America will be a just society. After his assassination, Barrack Obama became president several years later. It was a great achievement for this great nation as it ushered in a cohesive society. In the current times, the blacks are children of slaves while other is immigrants. The nation has become one regardless of mixed race.
