More About Bottling And Kegging

By Janet Clark

Nobody can understand advantages of brewing your own beer of how sweet it is from that which has already been packaged. Beer tastes way better when getting it from the tap. Bottling and kegging have been a major topic of discussion with people stating which method they think is better. You can try experimenting by tasting both at the same time.

Beer is delicate and needs to be stored away from air, light o direct heat. Too much air makes it lose its taste while light and heat leads to a bad smell being produced. Be careful where containers containing the drink are placed. Tell those people whom you are distributing to so that they do not claim you sold to them counterfeit products.

During the packaging of beer into smaller containers oxygen finds its way in during the sugar adding process when stirring is taking place. You cannot compare with that being stored in gallons since most times sugar is not added therefore air does not get a chance to penetrate. This means that the chance of that beer going bad is minimal.

There are several advantages that are associated with having your alcohol in smaller bottles. These containers are easily available and at an affordable price unlike gallons which are very expensive. With the big gallons you have to invest your time and energy in cleaning them. In case they are not thoroughly cleaned you could lose a lot of beer.

Putting your drink in commercial containers could be inexpensive since all one need to do is remove the labels and rebrand again. Brown sort of containers at least help in shielding light from reaching the alcohol. At least with such you are sure that your beer will not have an awful smell. But you can reduce your work load by using slightly bigger containers for storage.

Before putting more beer in an already used container, they need to be thoroughly cleaned. This is always the hardest part of a home brewer. You will need to be there to supervise that attention is given to every container. They should be rinsed with hot water and place them upside down for faster and easier drying process.

With gallons you have freedom to regulate the amount of carbon dioxide that you need. Unlike with the beer being packaged in smaller containers here you do not need to add sugar. This sugar is added to facilitate presence of carbon dioxide but for someone selling from the tap can determine the amount of oxygen they need as long as the system has been set to tap it.

If you decided you want to be in the business longer be ready for the associated costs. Purchasing the containers is expensive and maintain too is difficult. You could need one with some customized features so more money is needed before the business begins. A refrigerator too could be needed since if alcohol is put in these containers it could take long time to cool.
