Reasons For Increase In Halal Certified Food

By Kimberly Fox

Muslims are known to be strict with their faith and seek guidance from the Koran in most aspects of their lives. They are choosy on what they eat, where to eat and where to source for their food. They do not eat nor drink from any restaurant or hotel and consume Halal certified Food only. The word halal is of Arabic origin and means acceptable. The Islamic rule, is categorical and states that they can only consume meats and other foods prepared in a specific way.

The Muslim population is growing at a high rate and the appetite for licensed food is growing as well. There is a large percentage of Muslims who live in nations with a high percentage of nonbelievers. This makes it hard to obtain licensed food and if they seem to find any, then the legitimacy of the certificate can be questioned.

Reports from a current research demonstrated that more than a fourth of the total populace comprises of Muslims. There has been huge reduction in newborn child demise rates prompting for a comprehensive increment on the planet. Therefore, there is ready market for halal product, you just need to introduce it and do intensive marketing. The need to get a permit is principal and a key move for any association exploring business in this sector.

The economy in a few sections of the sphere particularly Muslim states has been developing enormously. Subsequently, the nationals have profited from an expansion in remuneration. Therefore, it makes economic sense to finance a halal establishment. The market is already there, and the people have the money to purchase your products.

The other reason is that both the believers and nonbeliever are mindful of what they eat. The Muslims are ending up progressively mindful of their religious commitments while nonbelievers are pushed towards purchasing Halal sustenance because they want to purchase hygienic, healthy natural foods. Most people want to consume organic food as much as possible so as to steer away from lifestyle diseases that are affecting many people.

The growing need to produce products that follow the strict Islamic laws does not affect the food industry only. The demand can be felt in other sectors such as cosmetics, clothing tourism among others. There are specific products which are prohibited by their law which includes alcohol among others.

Although the halal certification comes with bags of opportunities, it is also faced with a number of challenges. First, there are no unified global guidelines that are used to issue the certificate. Each country is independent and gives out its certificate according to how it dim fit. By setting international standards, there would be a significant improvement in the process of doing business at a global stage. This will be achieved by reducing the need to have numerous certificates.

Maintaining high levels of honesty has been a major challenge when producing these foods. Some company have been obtaining falsified licenses thereby deceiving their customers. This has compromised on the safety of the food and cases of food contamination have been on the rise. Therefore, the food processing chain needs to be protected to avoid such cases in the future to protect the lives of the consumers.
