Exotic Chines Cuisine And How It Delights The Tongue

By Joseph Kennedy

Food is the primary basic need of man. To this end, the early inhabitants that populated this planet spent much of their time in securing this basic necessity. They had to master the art of escape and evasion to avoid the other creatures that it had to compete with. Nowadays the modern man does not need to do this anymore. All he needs to avoid is getting hungry which can easily be relieved at dim sum international buffet Los Angeles CA.

Tribes were formed in early days as families began to group themselves together. An individual would emerge as a leader of this group who coordinated its activities. These tribes engaged in gathering and hunting for nutrition Their main nutrition was from berries, plants, fruits, and meat from animals that they hunted down. This was how people were able to survive.

The discovery of fire and its uses drastically altered the way humans took nutrition. Meat could now be cooked and the rudimentary artistry of cooking was born. With the passage of time, people began to learn how to mix different herbs and spices to their meals which led the hunt for the spice islands during the age of exploration and discovery.

The different food preference of populations is largely attributed to the availability of resources in each locality. This preference is handed down from generation to generation and is already ingrained in the psyche. This can be observed in the way meals are prepared and cooked. Each region has a different abundance of different types of animals and plants.

Although there are variations in a region, on the whole, it can be said that the people of the Americas and Europe have a preference for bread, mostly made of wheat flour. Asians are fond of stir frying and adding spices to their cuisine. Africans on the other hand, because of its dry environment are prone to eat tapioca, fruits, and other tubers.

One region in Asia, particularly in China had the idea of offering unlimited tea together with food served in small quantities. This practice called yum cha gained popularity is still evident in the streets of this region. It is a cross between lunch and breakfast but definitely not a snack. It certainly is what is now termed as brunch, a wordplay for breakfast and lunch.

This gained popularity in the United States during the great Chinese migrations during the industrial age when these were employed as railroad workers. These groups eventually settle down in communities that are better known as little China or Chinatown. This practice of serving to with small quantities of food later came to be known as dim sum.

Dim sum carts carry a variety of delightful dish items on and in it, mostly steamed in native bamboo steamers which add flavor to the cuisine. These carts are pushed around by servers from table to table where customers can just choose and pick the items that they like to eat. Food served is distinctive of Chinese origin and influence and brings with it an exotic eating experience.

People are curious by nature and want to try something different. This is very true when it comes to food. The human palate and the stomach will conspire in making an individual eat something that is not natural for them. And so it is with cuisine. As world boundaries are slowly being erased because of international amity, cross cultural habits are now becoming common.
